October Baby (Life is Beautiful)

So, I am in love with the movie October Baby.
It's clean and family friendly.
It is a movie that was made to raise awareness about the cruelty of abortion. In the movie, you travel alongside a 19 year old girl named Hannah, who finds out she was adopted as a baby. Not only was she adopted but she was the victim of a "failed" abortion. The movie shows her discovering the truth about her birth while finding peace and building a better relationship with her father. It's great.

But what I love even more than the movie is the soundtrack!
The songs are amazing! I have listened to them over and over. There are two songs on the CD that I don't like. One called "Make it Without You" which seems like it's a song about divorce. I am completely puzzled as to why they even have this song on the album. The other is called "When a Heart Breaks". The reason I don't care for this particular track is because of a line they put in the chorus. It states "..and you don't need Jesus, until you're here...". Now I have had a few friends interpret the song differently and they believe the song writer means this figuratively  That whoever is being sung about, doesn't think he/she needs Jesus until his/her heart actually breaks and he/she has no where else to turn. I personally, don't like having the song stuck in my head because the song doesn't clarify that part enough for my liking. This is just a personal preference.

OTHER THAN THATTT...

The album is outstanding! Just the song titles themselves are great. Every song is whimsical and inspirational. Below is the complete song list for the album. I put stars by my favorite... :)

****02. “Oh My Stars”—Andrew Belle
03. “Always on My Mind”—Mandi Mapes

"Be the Change you want to see in the world"

Many have heard the quote "Be the change you want to see in the world " but how often do we forget the effect each and everyone of us have on the world? Three things that inspire.

What gives you inspiration? For me it changes often. Right now I am fascinated with trees, starry nights, and dandelions. Something about these wonderful handy works of my Creator make me want to express myself.

I'm working on a new project that has to do with dandelions. But you will just have to wait a while to see.. Until then, enjoy these inspirational photos!

More veggies.

So I'm on this diet/cleanse to counter act my holiday gorging! I'm on the third day and all I can eat are fruits and veggies. Now don't get me wrong! I love fruit and vegetables but right now it's raining and all I want to eat is junk. But I will stick to it.. Even though drinking a tall glass of water while cuddling up with a good book is nothing like having a hot caramel macchiato with so much whipped creme you have a mustache after each sip. Anywho.

Here is the link to the cleanse I'm doing it anyone is interested.

I love my comfy sweater! I bought it at Rue 21 for $3. :)
Necklace was from a Garage sale for $1.50
Skirt from a thrift store for $3
Annnd last but not least. My new knee length socks bought at target on sale for $3

Okay. I'm done whining seeings how I did this to myself. Humff. Did you eat way too much this holiday season? Me too. :)

Happy Birthday Jenny!

My best friend has just turned 18 and I can finally give her the gifts I have been working on for the past few months. :) She has recently been redecorating her room so I decided to make her decorative piece to hang on her wall:

Also. Pillows are very expensive. So I made her some of my own designs to incorporate her vintage taste while going along with her chic theme. I created each pillow to match her rooms colors and feel.

As you can tell. This one is my favorite. :)

A few weeks ago, her family and I went out to dinner and that is when I gave her her first few gifts, which was jewelry. Two necklaces.. One I made and the other she picked out when we were shopping. I got her some bangles that matched the second necklace. Altogether, I really just wanted her to know how important she is to me! I didn't get a photo of them though.. Sorry.
I put the jewelry in an origami box I made out of scrapbook paper using this tutorial.
To rap the pillows, I simply put them in a box and wrapped it with brow wrapping paper. I have never been to big on the printed wrapping paper look, so instead I use regular paper and spice it up. I like the simi-vintage feel it gives. This time I took a piece of wide lace and set it on the edge of the wrapped box. Using stencil paint gave it this effect. I will be posting a tutorial on how to do this soon. Then I manipulated a few pieces of silver ribbon and a sparkly button to make the two bows! I'm quite pleased at how everything turned out. :)

Thanks for listening to me ramble! ;)

My new phone!

So I had been needing an upgrade for a while because my old phone was slowly dying on me! Saturday daddy decided to take me to AT&T in the mall. Now I thought he would just buy a new flip phone, you know nothing really special. To my surprise he told the kind lady to upgrade my phone to a 3G media plan and give us the latest iPhone. My jaw dropped! So now, I am pleased to announce I have a brand spankin' new, white, 16gb, iPhone 5. I am now a happy camper! This will help out with my etsy business as well as the ability to blog more often.
HUGE thanks to my daddy!

Oh! Also, I got a dark blue otter box to protect it and it looks kinda dull. Any ideas? I was thinking mod podge and a pretty picture.. I'll let you know what i decide. I may even make a tutorial for y'all!

Well that's it. Tata for now, and have an amazing week!
